Africa Week UK 2026 has officially been launched in Accra, Ghana, with organisers unveiling the roadmap for a 10-day programme designed to promote investment, trade, diplomacy, entrepreneurship and Africa’s cultural influence in the United Kingdom.

The flagship programme, scheduled to hold in London from 23 October to 2 November 2026, will bring together business leaders, investors, diplomats, policymakers, entrepreneurs, creatives, media representatives and members of the African diaspora.

Held under the theme, “Africa Forward: Innovation, Investment, Influence,” the initiative is positioned as a platform for substantive engagement on Africa’s economic potential, investment opportunities, diplomatic relations, cross-border business partnerships, cultural heritage and global influence.

The Accra launch provided an opportunity for the organisers to present the programme and its objectives while strengthening existing partnerships and encouraging greater participation from businesses, institutions, investors, policymakers, the diplomatic community and the wider African diaspora.

The London programme will open on Friday, 23 October, with Welcome Night – A Taste of Africa at The Gold Coast Bar in Croydon. The event will combine African cuisine, music and networking as an introduction to the activities that follow.

The programme continues on Monday, 26 October, with Spotlight on Africa, a series of curated visits to African-owned businesses across London. Organised in partnership with Omega TV, the initiative will highlight entrepreneurs contributing to the economic footprint of the African diaspora in the UK.

On Tuesday, 27 October, Beyond Bloodlines: African-Caribbean Relations in the UK, hosted by The Africa Guide, will examine shared histories, identity and emerging opportunities between African and Caribbean communities in Britain.

This will be followed on Wednesday, 28 October, by a Diplomatic Panel, bringing together ambassadors and policy leaders to discuss diplomacy, trade corridors and the future of Africa–UK relations. The session will be broadcast on Omega TV.

On Thursday, 29 October, an Investors Meeting will bring together investors and financiers to examine opportunities and capital pathways into some of Africa’s fastest-growing sectors, with the aim of advancing discussions towards tangible investment outcomes.

The Africa Market Access Forum, scheduled for Friday, 30 October, will focus on business-to-business matchmaking between African enterprises and UK-based partners, with discussions centred on trade, distribution and commercial partnerships.

Also running from 30 October to 1 November will be the Heritage Vault Pop-Up, a public-facing exhibition showcasing African art, artefacts and storytelling, providing London audiences with an opportunity to engage with the continent’s diverse cultural heritage.

The programme will conclude on Monday, 2 November, with the African Branding Forum, which will examine strategies for strengthening Africa’s global image and enabling Africans and African institutions to play a greater role in shaping the continent’s narrative through branding and strategic communications.

According to the organisers, Africa Week UK 2026 has been deliberately designed to extend beyond cultural celebration by creating a platform for relationship-building, market access, investment and stronger Africa–UK connections.

Over the 10-day programme, participants are expected to engage across diplomacy, investment, business, entrepreneurship, culture and creative industries, with the broader objective of highlighting Africa’s innovation, investment opportunities and growing global influence.

Co-Founder of Africa Week UK 2026, Akwasi Agyeman, said the initiative was conceived as a working platform that would move conversations about Africa towards practical partnerships.

“Africa Week UK 2026 is not just a celebration but a working platform. Over ten days in London, we are bringing diplomats, investors, entrepreneurs and creatives into the same room to move Africa’s story from narrative to negotiation, and from potential to partnership.

“This launch in Accra was about ensuring that momentum starts on the continent itself, so that when we arrive in London, Africa is not just represented but it is driving the agenda.”

Businesses, institutions, brands and organisations interested in supporting Africa Week UK 2026 are being invited to explore sponsorship and partnership opportunities, while prospective participants and members of the public can register for the various sessions.
