Aviation: Nigeria’s New National Airline, Nigeria Air Gets Licence To Operate

Four years after unveiling Nigeria Air, the federal government has announced the receipt of Air Transport Licence [ATL] to commence its national carrier operation.

This comes after the federal ministry of Aviation on Sunday, announced that the proposed national carrier would receive an ATL from the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority [NCAA] on Monday.

In an update on Monday, the ministry said in a tweet via its official page, said the national carrier would provide quality service to Nigerians. The presentation was done at NCAA’s headquarters in Abuja

“The ATL certificate has been presented to Nigeria Air. Congratulations!,” the tweet reads

” Nigeria Air is here and is going to provide quality service to Nigerians,” the ministry added.

Nigeria Air Limited had in March 2022 applied to NCAA for a licence to operate scheduled and non-scheduled passenger and cargo services.

The receipt of operating licence on Monday comes four years after the national carrier was unveiled by Hadi Sirika, minister of state aviation.

In 2018, the Minister of State for Aviation, Senator Hadi Sirika, unveiled Nigerian Air at the Farnborough Air Show in London, United Kingdom.
