Oyo state has blaze the trail again. coming with the popular Yoruba food called `Oka’ Amala to be repackaged, presented and celebrated come 15th, 16th and 17th December 2016, at the Trans Wonderland, Amusement Park, Samonda Ibadan.
The event which is tagged `Amala Fiesta’ is the vision of the Honourable Commissioner for Information, Culture and Tourism, Toye Arulogun, who made it known that his tenure as the commissioner, under the able leadership of His Excellency, Senator Isiaq Abiola Ajimobi will not be a mere formality but a bundle of gift in his capacity to serve the good people of Oyo State, through promotion and full support of the vision and mission of His Excellency.
In his speech, at the unveiling ceremony of the brand `Amala Fiesta’ on Tuesday 25th of October 2016 at the House of Chiefs, Oyo State Secretariat Ibadan.
The Commissioner elicited the just concluded World Tourism day held on the 27th September 2016 at Iseyin Town, where landmark successes were recorded in planning, implementation and the objectives.
Arulogun said the result of the event that showcased `Aso Oke’ as popular Yoruba traditional clothing has given him the zeal to navigate through other areas of our heritage that can brew the desired characters necessary for the development of our society, thereby springing world-wide acceptance and financial gains for the people in various localities where these are derived.
The Honorable commissioner emphasizes that the upcoming `Amala Fiesta’ is opened for sponsorship and collaborations in various capacities, and that, though he is enjoying the collaborations of some organizations like `Tourism Care and Hospitality Association of Nigeria’ [TCHAN] Oyo State Chapter, The Canteen Workers Association of Oyo State and Nigerian Breweries Plc, it is still an event that can accommodate many players going by the scope envisioned. He therefore expressed enthusiasm generated in the course of preparation to the unveiling ceremony.
When asked about the perceived opportunity, He said, apart from the aura of the season that receives the event, which holds a lot of financial, material and human blessings, it is undoubtedly a big opportunity for the would-be stake-holders to express their products and services to the categories of the visitors and participants.
The Honorable commissioner asserted that the involvement of the 33 local Government of Oyo state representatives and other invitees from outside the State, will ice the cake of the huge traffic to the event, thereby creating the business atmosphere that will be up for grabs.
He concluded that, all hands are on deck, preparatory to the event and that no stone will be left unturned to make `Amala Fiesta’ a huge success.
