The United Nations World Tourism Organisation [UNWTO], has confirmed the news of change of venue of the forthcoming 24th Session of the General Assembly earlier billed to take place in Marrakesh from November 30 – December 3, 2021.
In an email from the UNWTO secretariat by the conference department confirmed the change of venue, saying more details about the change and activities would be made available on their website.
Meanwhile, despite Najib Balala, Kenya Cabinet Secretary for Tourism and Wildlife invitation to UNWTO to hold the 2021 General Assembly in Kenya, instead of moving from Africa was not considered.
However, there were speculations that the letter sent by the Government of Morocco may have not meant to ask for a move of venue country, but a simple request to postpone the general assembly written in a polite French diplomatic term, sources said.
