All is now set for the maiden edition of the Hospitality, Tourism and Eco-Sustainability Forum [IHTEF] 2016, in Asaba, Delta State. A statement issued by Chief Executive Officer of Sustainable Eco6tems, and Co-Organizer Engr. Chibuikem Diala indicates that the two day event is scheduled to hold at the prestigiousNelrose Hotel, Asaba, between March 23rd and 24th 2016.
According to the statement, the event promises to be the hospitality and tourism event of the year, with experts in the hospitality and tourism industry, as well as climate change experts, businesses, international development organizations, governments, amongst others, in attendance.
Speakers expected at the event include Hon. Ned Nwoko, a former House of Representative Member and a tourism enthusiast of International repute, Dr Michael Pinder of Sun Heavens Resort, Sir Monday Onyeme who is the Chairman, Delta State Board of Internal Revenue, etc. Other speakers will be confirmed soon.
The core objective of the IHTEF 2016 is to build advocacy for excellence in the hospitality and tourism industry, as well as, build up superior local and international investments in the emerging green economy, while driving the advocacy to support eco-sustainability in the South and East of Nigeria.
The 2016 International Hospitality, Tourism & Eco-Sustainability Conference will equally be focusing on the opportunities for prosperity and eco-sustainability through Hospitality and Tourism in the regions of Delta, Edo, Imo, Anambara, Enugu, Rivers, Akwa Ibom and Bayelsa States
Other Objectives of the Forum include interactive sessions to discuss and analyze the growing importance of Hospitality and Tourism in Sub-National/Sub-regional economies, with the aim of positioning the hospitality and tourism sector as a major employment generation industry in Nigeria.
It is also expected that a credible platform to champion issues of environment protection, climate change and green economy, will be established at the end of the Forum deliberations.
The Forum will equally discuss ways of driving up hotel sales as well as increasing revenue for owners; harness means of building up foreign investment portfolio to boost the tourism sector; Link Hospitality and Tourism Development to Urban Renewal and Sustainability of diverse Ecosystems; Seek ways of supporting rural tourism marketing and promotion, including regional and International tourism exchange.
In addition, the Organizers of IHTEF 2016 have packaged an Exhibition which will not only create wider opportunities for all stakeholders and participants to leverage on, but will also provide opportunity for Hotels, Airlines, Spa and Wellness, Fashion Houses, Schools, Culinary and Hospitality Institutions, FMCGs, Furniture/Interior Companies among others.
Participants at the 2016 IHTEF will include: Institutional Investors, Government, Development Organizations, Hotels, Students, Media, Banks and other Financial Institutions, Hotel Owners, Tourism Boards from across the country.
Highlights of the Forum will hinge on Presentations, Panel discussions, Short Documentaries, [IHTEF EXPO], Bed Making Competition.
The organizers have also encouraged Speakers for the discussion sessions at the conference to submit their abstract to the Conference Organizing Committee on or before the 15th of March, 2016.
