Organisers of ‘Golden Face of Niger Delta Pageant’has announced a new date for the event that was earlier slated for April.
The pageant organisers said in a release that the postponement and shift, was to enable it accommodate and reach a wider people for participation as demanded by the sponsors.
Accordingly, the new date is now set for June 2, 2017 in Port Harcout, the River State capital.
Meanwhile, Lydia Emenyi, Managing Director, Lymdatex Ventures, the company behind the pageant said the event has also been expanded and now is opened to contestants from states that made up the Niger Delta Development Commission [NDDC].
In view of the aforementioned, regional auditions will hold in the following zones; Zone A comprising of Cross River, Abia and Akwa-Ibom States will take place at the Luton Park Hotels, Udo Udoma Avenue, Uyo, Akwa-Ibom State, on May 13, 2107; Zone B comprising of Rivers, Bayelsa and Imo States will take place at the Ediz Wine Bar, 11 A Emeyal Street, GRA Phase II, Port Harcourt, Rivers State on May 15, 2017.
While Zone C comprising of Edo, Delta and Ondo States will hold at The Sage Hotel, GRA Benin City, Edo State on May 17, 2017; with camp officially opening for the grand finally on May 26, 2017 in Port Harcourt.
Emenyi also noted that Nigerians will get to vote and choose their most suitable contestants not only by beauty, character, personality and moral, but also intelligence, current affairs and their cultural/fashion consciousness of Niger Delta.
As earlier indicated, all participants should not be less than 18 years, and not more than 25 years of age to take part in the Golden Face of Niger Delta with camping exercise taking place at a secure accommodation in Port Harcourt.
However, participants are required to pay a non-refundable sum of Five Thousand Naira only [N5, 000] to any Sterling Bank branch closest to them, and further go online to download the nomination form.
Niger Delta Development Commission is the major sponsor, with considerable sponsorship from DufilPrima, Starz Investment Company Limited, MTN Nigeria, Euro Corner, Ediz Wine Bar, African Travel Times magazine and Sidoni Water.
